Cheri's journey

Introduction

Meet Cheri who worked in the healthcare sector before switching to a career in nuclear as a Scheduler at our Devonport site. Cheri said the accelerated training programme was intense but invaluable, and she’s learned so much to take forward into her new role.

Accelerate your career with a job in nuclear

“My background is in the healthcare sector, but when the opportunity arose to be part of the Babcock team, a well-established organisation which improves lives, I couldn’t resist. The accelerated training programme I undertook was intense but invaluable. I learned so much that I have been able to take forward into my new role.

“I’ve always wanted a job where I can make a real difference and expand my knowledge learning from professionals who deliver programmes of national importance.

“I currently work as part of the Project Management Office supporting delivery of the major infrastructure programme at the Devonport site in Plymouth. The programme is delivering substantial upgrades to existing infrastructure to support and sustain the UK’s submarines for decades to come.

Advice for Aspiring Nuclear Professionals

“My advice? Absolutely go for it, don’t overthink things and always ask questions - always be inquisitive!”
